How a disciplined environment makes us feel better?
Think about a nice place. Let’s take a park for example. When you visit a park on a fresh morning, then you feel very good and fresh to be there. We feel like freshness of the air and the environment is blooming our minds. Beautiful flowers blooming, birds chirping, the cool breeze just passing by, the mere thought is wholesome. This is what a good environment is.
Now
take another example. Let’s take an example of a hot summer day at 12 noon. The
situation is that the sun is shining brightly, and you’re stuck in your car in
the middle of a traffic jam. The vehicles’ emissions and their horns honking,
combined with the exhausting sun’s heat, is just a pure representation of
chaos. No one would feel nice to be a part of situation.
Now,
compare the two environments, or the two situations. Which one would make you
feel better and more comfortable? That’s the difference between a good physical
environment and a bad physical environment.
Since
we are humans, we have the ability to think and make decisions. Though other
animals can also do that till some extent, but we humans are primarily known
for this boon of ours. Not only physical, but also mental influences and
environments can have an impact on a human’s mind.
We
saw examples of good and bad physical environments, so let’s now see examples
of good and bad mental environments. Imagine a scenario. We all have friends,
don’t we? So let’s take an example of friends. If you be around friends of
yours, who are loyal, helpful, friendly, give you better suggestions, and never
try to teach you any misleading things like using abusive languages. Some
people might not have all of these, but certainly a few of these good qualities
as a friend.
On
the other hand, if you have friends who never help you when you need them, or
never actually talk to you in a respectful manner, and always mislead you, then
you will obviously feel bad. \This is what the difference is between mental
environments.
Discipline is a very big part of one’s life.
Without discipline, we always get in trouble, we are never able to do anything
on time, or we are never able to do something at a level that we wanted to see
ourselves at that level or proficiency. Someone never automatically develops
discipline within himself, he has to work hard to become disciplined. And so, a
disciplined environment always keeps him/her determined to remain disciplined.
An example to understand this is that of the army
men or the soldiers of the army. The major always commands the whole group of
the army men, never just only one of them. This keeps everyone in the army
disciplined and determined. You see, when we see that the other people are also
doing good, then we also feel like we should also do good things just like them;
or we get determined to do good things like them. This is one of the reasons of
the great determination of the army-officials. Of course, just this doesn’t
keep them determined, the love and support of their families, their seniors,
and their huge and unshaken passion towards their work and their motherland.
Hence a disciplined environment not only helps a
soldier in the army to remain disciplined and teach others to be disciplined
but also to all people.
How a disciplined environment is?
A disciplined environment is something that
motivates you to become disciplined, not forces you to do so. Your discipline
is only for your own good; it is not going to help anyone else. If you do your
homework, it is only going to help you as a practice of whatever you have
learnt at your school.
Say parents go to work every day on perfect time,
for example if their office opens at 9:00 a.m., they will do all of their works
like preparing the breakfast, getting ready, and then leave to reach the office
just in time so that they can reach there on time. And surprisingly, they do
this everyday. Similarly, we are taught to reach school on time everyday just
so that we can learn this virtue as an adult.
As a student myself, I would recommend that you
follow whomever you like the most, or whoever is your role model in your life.
Follow his/her good deeds and you will see that you have achieved what you
wanted to in your life in the future.
