The Internet

 

The Internet is the largest source of information on the planet. It has connected all of us from one end of the planet to the other end. The Internet is not only a source of information, but also we can do a lot of things from the internet like shopping, entertainment etc. The internet is a revolutionary change in human history and this change has enabled even faster changes in the world. Newer technologies are getting initiated almost every year. Some of them fail, some of them become giant technological organizations like Google, Microsoft, Apple, Amazon and Facebook. The Internet is such a powerful revolutionary that it has totally changed the point of view of most individuals on the planet. Before the internet, people were considered powerful politically and financially. But after the advent of the Internet, people are considered powerful mentally. No one needs millions or billions to access the internet. From the rich to the poor, everyone can now access the internet—at least at some extent like everyone now knows at least how to call someone else using the telephone or the mobile phone.

There are a few positive and a few negative impacts of the internet on us. First, let’s discuss the positive impacts of the internet, and then let’s focus on the negative impacts of the internet especially towards a student. The positive impacts of the internet are as follows:—

·         Internet has enabled effective communication amongst people of the world. People of the world are able to communicate using the internet via messaging, calling and online conferences.

·         Business interactions and transactions take much lesser time and are less complicated when the Internet is used to run them.

·         Banking, shopping are also available through the internet.

·         We can access news of any part of the world at any time through the internet.

·         Education has become extremely easy through the internet. Students are able to connect with teachers from all around the globe through the internet. Teachers are also able to communicate to a larger number of students throughout the globe.

·         Research has become extremely easy since the scientists from all around the globe are able to connect with other scientists.

The negative impacts of the internet are as follows:—

·         The availability of illegal material is extremely easy through the internet and this illegal material is mostly not age-suitable.

·         Addiction is a very big problem of the Internet users. Children and teenagers are especially more addicted to the internet and social media.

·         Cyber theft has become a very big problem and the internet has become a mean of transfer of these malware.

These are the positive and the negative impacts of the internet. The internet is something that is a revolutionary in mankind, and so like any other thing that humans have invented, the internet also has some disadvantages together with advantages. Hence, if we try to filter the things that we search by ourselves, we will be able to use the positive things about the internet and avoid the negative things about the internet. And so, we must take care of what we search on the internet.

We humans invent newer technologies every year. Some work out really well and some do not. Internet is something that has made the invention of technologies almost ten times faster and so what might come out in ten years, is coming out in one year because of the cushion that the internet provides us with. It is up to us that how do we use this cushion of the internet and change how humanity is functioning.
