What Education has become

“Knowledge is power” is a very popular quote in English. Education is the process of gaining knowledge and practicing our knowledge skills. Education is very important in making the world a better place.

However, today, all that education has become, is a business. This is the harsh reality. Whether its schools, colleges, coaching or tutoring institutions, or just private tutors, all that education today has become is give and take.

Education is the process of educating and training the mind of a student to make him suitable to have a better future. Well, sadly, we see that everything is so much different from the actual intent of the educational institutions. We see that all education providers are so much interested in their own profit, rather than making and uplifting the students.

Education in the long run, is actually a business. A business in the sense that there is a transaction, or a give-and-take. Education is when the teacher teaches you something new in return of something of equal in value, most probably money. But this is not the issue, the issue is greediness of people.

Before we start discussing on this topic, I would like to say it is not just one person’s fault. Most people are going to infer that it is the institutions’ fault that they have raised the fees so much that we aren’t able to sustain with their demands. No, it is not just the institutions’ fault that the fees are so high, it is equally our fault we are not doing anything about it. You see, if there is a person belonging to a respected family in the society, and he wants to send his child to school, then he has to take the option of an expensive school, otherwise the people will say or taunt him by saying that he has got so much money but still his child goes to an average school. It is fine even till that point, but it is not always that expensive educational institutions are not necessarily the best.

Schools are to train children for the future. Incredibly expensive schools provide the students with a whole lot of privileges, like a lot of personal attention is given to each child in such schools. But here, it is the student who is responsible. Whether he is ready to take the information and use the privileges that he is given to become the best that he can be, or whether he is not ready to take the information and not use the privileges to his advantage and keep his knowledge level the same and not grow it to reach its maximum.

From the above illustrations, we can clearly see that not just the institutions, but also the people, the society, and most importantly the students as well are a big part of this issue that is created. Education must be kept as education, one should not think about profits and losses he gets when it comes to education. We must give our 100% in whatever we do as a part of education. I hope you have learnt something from my words, thank you!
